Dr. David Chang is a board certified fellowship trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, making him one of the few sub specialists in the middle Missouri area. Dr. Chang is a native of Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from Yale University with a bachelor degree in Molecular Biology and Biophysics. Dr. Chang earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He then completed a general surgery internship and a residency in otolaryngology—head and neck surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
Following residency, Dr. Chang completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery in Miami, FL with Dr. Richard Davis and Dr. Brian Jewett at the University of Miami, and with Dr. Robert Simons and Dr. Julio Gallo at the MIAMI Institute for Age Management and Intervention. Dr. Chang’s training included rhinoplasty, surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures, and minimally invasive procedures. He also is experienced with reconstruction of facial defects, whether congenital or following skin cancer excision.
Currently Dr. Chang is double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is an Assistant Professor with University of Missouri. His interests include cosmetic surgery of the face, facial rejuvenation, reconstruction after skin cancer, facial trauma, pediatric vascular lesions, and rhinoplasty and nasal surgery.
Dr. Chang, apart from his regular practice, continues to provide care for those less fortunate. He is a member of the "Face to Face Foundation". This is a national non-profit organization for which he volunteers to provide care to help victims of domestic violence. He is also a member of a surgical team to Kenya to provide surgical correction of cleft lip and cleft palate to underserved patients.
